Phil McBasket

Phil was bought as a classic gent’s bike. He’s always been sturdy and reliable – Mudguards, a chain cover and the kind of strength to carry an equally sturdy rider. However, he was ideal in the eyes of his owner; a retired publican from Aldeburgh who lives a stone’s throw from the centre of town and enjoys occasional shopping trips and leisurely afternoons and evenings in Aldeburgh’s wide variety of pubs and eateries.

It’s a good life and, even on a pension, Phil’s owner has become a bit of a gourmet. The daily trips to the many great fish sheds, food shops and, dare we mention, the fish and chip shops… ensure that Phil’s load isn’t going to get lighter in the near future. Never mind he loves the social element of coming across other bikes so frequently and has some good friends.
